About
Omnia

Did you know that the name of our company OMNIA represents the initials of Brian and Gene’s children, Olivia, Michael, Nicholas and Nathaniel, Isabel and Alexandria? It was also chosen because it means “everything” in Latin.

Partners, Brian Mann and Gene Grimaldi, while working as architectural leaders at an award-winning developer and builder, melded their knowledge of architecture and building to create the OMNIA Group Architects in 1993. For over 30 years, the firm has successfully built a solid foundation based on exceptional service and creative architecture. We recognize that every project has many interdependent components that extend beyond creativity into the practical realms of code requirements, budgets and financing, site constraints, market research, sustainability, efficiency, universality and other critical factors.

We pride ourselves on delivering creative, efficient, beautiful, livable, workable, buildable, cost effective homes, and work and hospitality environments, creating architecture that matters.

Gene Grimaldi

Gene Grimaldi graduated from Temple University and began his career at one of the city’s premier architectural firms.  An accomplished craftsman, Gene followed his interest into the building industry where he worked as chief architect for a renowned regional developer.  Fueled by characteristic optimism and entrepreneurial spirit, Gene formed The OMNIA Group with Brian in 1993.  Based on a philosophy of synthesized creativity and real world construction knowledge, their aim was to service clients in a new way.  The result is a portfolio of single and multi-family homes, apartments, office, retail spaces and restaurants whose live-ability and work-ability belie their extraordinary build-ability.  Gene’s old world pride and attention to detail coupled with his amiable manner provide clients with a rare level of service and solution.  An early advocate of green initiatives, Gene’s own home is a showcase of sustainably, featuring geo-thermal heating and cooling, rainwater management and advanced energy efficiencies. Gene enjoys homemade wine, complaining about golf and cutting whole pieces of food in quarters to eat little bites at a time.  Word is that his wife Marie ROCKS!

Each client is unique; each project has a unique set of best solutions based on a thorough understanding of the project and a thoughtful orchestration of the many aspects of the job.  Brian Mann approaches each project with a passion for excellence; excellence measured as a positive client experience as they live and work in an OMNIA design.  Brian holds degrees in design, engineering and management from the University of Pennsylvania but it is his studies of nature and human nature that truly inform his methods as he tells us all of the time.  When not on his soap box, Brian is known for his adept use of color, texture and lighting, Brian’s work often draws on natural inspiration; columns as trees, hearth as campfire, colorful tile as flowers in a garden.  “The components that make for a good design are often difficult to visualize and verbalize so it is my job to know my client well so that what they finally experience is special and when surprising, pleasantly so.” When not playing in his University of Pennsylvania Alumni lacrosse games, Brian specializes in awakening the associates with his bad candy throws and off the cuff humor.  He is an avid reader of nonfiction and a lover of classical and jazz music.
